Event Overview
On 5th June 2025, the Ex-Service Personnel Reunion (EPR) proudly marked its 15th anniversary with a celebration filled with camaraderie, remembrance, and generosity. This year’s event was truly exceptional as for the first time we reached full capacity and had to announce that no more tickets were available. Such popularity is a testament to the enduring spirit and appeal of our gathering.
Remembrance and Reflection
The evening commenced with a poignant tribute to comrades who passed away during the year. The solemn notes of the Last Post echoed through the venue, followed by a minute’s silence—a moment of collective remembrance and respect for those no longer with us.

Charity Presentation
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a cheque for £400 to a representative from Prostate Cancer UK. These funds were raised from the previous year’s raffle, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of our community to supporting charitable causes, in particular Prostate Cancer which affects 1 in 4 Black men.
A Full and Special Programme
Our programme was as comprehensive as ever, but with the 15th anniversary, there was an added sense of occasion. Comrades travelled from near and far—some reuniting with friends, family, and colleagues for the first time in decades. The warmth and joy generated by these reunions were truly heart-warming and a sight to behold.
Dinner was accompanied by the enchanting music of saxophonist Samantha Jayne, whose performances continue to impress year after year. Her soulful melodies provided the perfect backdrop to an evening of celebration and reminiscence.

Guest Speaker and Raffle Announcement
Our guest speaker, Marie-Claire Kofi, Founder of Plasma of Hope Sickle Charity, delivered an insightful and personal address about sickle cell disease and her own experiences living with the condition. Her words resonated deeply, particularly as many in our community have been touched by sickle cell in some way.
In recognition of this, it was announced that proceeds from this year’s raffle would be donated to the Sickle Cell Charity. The announcement was met with enthusiasm, sparking a brisk sale of raffle tickets and the lively auctioning of a Caribbean hamper.
Camaraderie and Community Looking Back, now, and the future
The reunion provided an invaluable opportunity to reconnect with old comrades, share memories of service around the globe, and welcome newcomers attending for the first time. Special recognition goes to the dedicated supporters who have scarcely missed an event in all 15 years—your loyalty and spirit are the backbone of EPR.

Entertainment and Celebration
The evening’s entertainment was superb, with DJ Dee and Crew once again delivering an outstanding musical experience. Their energy and song choices ensured the dance floor was lively, making the occasion all the more memorable.
Looking Ahead
The 15th anniversary event was a resounding success, celebrating both our enduring bonds and our commitment to meaningful causes. As we look to the future, let us continue to raise the profile of EPR—striving for recognition in the national diary and ensuring these reunions remain a cherished tradition for years to come.
