
Noel joined the RAF Regiment in August 1973 and served for thirteen years as a Rapier Missile Operator and Ground defence trainer at various RAF Bases. On leaving the RAF he joined the Metropolitan police; he completed 30 years service obtaining the rank of Detective Inspector.
He served on various Murder Squads, Antiterrorist Squad, Robbery and Burglary Squad. Receiving seven commendations for his detective abilities and exemplary leadership.
On leaving the Metropolitan Police he joined the Home Office as an Immigration officer, serving at Heathrow Airport. He was then seconded to the Asylum Interviewing unit based at Manston. He retired in December 2023.
Noel is a keen skier and organised a yearly trip to the Austrian slopes. He is an avid traveller and supports Liverpool football club.
